Xavi Ferrer

Xavi Ferrer is currently working for promoting local initiatives networking by supporting the growing municipalist ecosystem. He is a founder member of Barcelona en Comú, where worked as co-head of its International group for 3 years.

Nowadays, he is collaborating with the European Municipalist Network, Cities for Change, Barcelona en Comú, Foro Transiciones, and other informal networks.

His work focuses on supporting local groups, with the aim of creating a global network of organizations that could contribute to the transitions that we need: to sustainability, feminization, decolonizing, digitalization, etc.

His political background is the anti-evictions platform PAH, neighbourhood organizations, squads, Zapatista groups, etc, where he worked designing and organizing political impact campaigns (simultaneous closure of banks, playful political mobilizations, etc) and community organizing for the right to the city. His education includes industrial engineering with a master’s in development cooperation and long experience in NGOs in the areas of planning, fundraising, and communication.
